About & Journals

Coverham Church, Coverham, North Yorkshire

Welcome to Holy Trinity, Coverham.

Holy Trinity was once the main parish church for Coverdale.  Although regular worship ceased in the 1980s, it remains consecrated, and the beauty of its tranquil setting makes it a much-loved place for reflection, remembrance and celebration.  Christenings, weddings, and funerals continue to be held here, as well as several services including an annual Candlelit Christmas Carols. The Churches Conservation Trust is responsible for the fabric of the building, and Coverdale Churches is responsible for the maintenance and development of the churchyard.

Friends of Coverham Church was launched in 2019 at the Christmas Candlelit service, explaining our aim to support the Churches Conservation Trust (the building) and Coverdale Churches (the churchyard).  The Friends launched their initial appeal to the local community, who responded generously.  This has enabled various emergency works to take place and other projects to be prepared and costed.

Over the last few years, we have held several concerts, theatrical productions and services for the community and friends further afield.

Our published accounts are available to view on the Charity Commission website
