Tim at the Masham Cider Press kindly donated his craft cider, which was enthusiastically enjoyed as “Kir Breton”! It was a suitable accompaniment to hot local sausages before the performance. Sustainable Church Flowers - "Leaping salmon" roses and vibrant geum "totally tangerine" were locally grown and arranged without the use of floral foam, simply arranged in an old tin bucket, standing on the cider bar.
On Trinity Sunday, All Creatures Great and Small gathered in the sunshine of the churchyard. The Yorkshire Vet, Peter Wright, was our very special guest. Our Rector Jeff blessed all the animals, including parrots, Jacob sheep, Squirt the tortoise, and Taylor the young guide dog for the blind and Doris the newly-enrolled Pets as Therapy dog, as well as many other dearly beloved members of families.

In a review of the service, the Curry family from Doncaster said:
“what a magical day to be in the sun, united as proud pet parents, amongst our furry, feathered and shelled nearest and dearest!! The best birthday day out I have had in years, felt so privileged to be in such a beautiful setting surrounded by laughter, song and barking!!”
With exceptionally generous donations, a tremendous £1,400 was raised for Herriot Hospice Homecare. Their invaluable work in the Dales, serves those in need in very difficult times.
The weekend certainly reflected the Churches Conservation Trust concept of “Share your Church week”. In the visitors book, a beautiful recent comment summed it up:
“Coverham is the closest place to Heaven on Earth”
