Trinity Sunday Service
4th June 2023
At the United Trinity Sunday Service, we were honoured to have in attendance The Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Johanna Ropner, as the King’s representative in this his coronation year.
A large gathering of our community from the benefice came together for the service, including some four legged friends who had accompanied their owner’s pilgrimage from Middleham, across the Low Moor to Coverham.
The service was taken by Rev Jeff Payne and Rev Liz Moody, and the hymns were led by the joyful Bedale Brass Band.
As the thoughtful service drew to a close, William Harrison-Topham stood in the ancient church yard as lone Piper, and piped the Lord Lieutenant, followed by the choir and congregation, to plant the two sapling oak trees in celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III. The national anthem was sung as the band played, and from inside the church champagne corks popped in preparation for a celebration toast.
It was a grand Coverdale morning!
